The suit can take dozens of rounds, Plasmid powers, and wrench bashes before ultimately giving way to your brute-force attacks. His bulky protective armor is a terrific counter-measure to your greed. If you want the extracted ADAM each girl takes for yourself, the Big Daddy will have something to say about that. If you don't threaten the Little Sisters, he's just a big teddy bear. Each Big Daddy is sworn to protect a girl and will stop at nothing to keep her safe.
Big Daddies have counterparts in the Little Sisters, young girls who harvest the stem cells from corpses. Still+looks+like+Bomberman,+doesn't+he? Who wouldn't want to have a go at wearing this fearsome outfit? Big Daddies are one of the enemy characters in BioShock, humans who have been transplanted into massive diving suits – complete with a heavy drill instead of a right arm (it's so much more useful), or a rivet gun, rocket launcher or ion laser.
